Sworn translations are a formal requirement that certain entities demand to ensure the quality of the translation they are going to receive and its accuracy with regard to the original text. You can even order a sworn translation of a concert ticket or the instructions of a watch! Sworn translations must bear the translator\u2019s seal on all pages and include a certificate of accuracy at the end. <\/p>\n

A legal translation is any translation of a text whose subject matter is law. Translations are typically charged per word. Translators also have a minimum fee that covers the time they spend formatting, translating, revising, printing, stamping, and scanning the translated document. Even if the original text only contains a few words, it needs to meet all the requirements we mentioned in the first section. There are no bulk discounts in the translation industry because, contrary to what happens in, say, a shoe factory, we do not see a reduction in the fabrication cost of each extra unit we produce. The time a translator spends on a text is proportional to the length of that text.     Automated translation tools and AI are very useful to get a general idea of the content of a text. However, they tend to deliver very literal translations, with the use of many calques. This is very dangerous, especially when the outcome of an administrative procedure or a company\u2019s reputation, a legal proceeding, or the quarterly results of a company are on the line. Only expert translators with deep knowledge of the subject are capable of extracting all the nuances of a text so that the client is not left in the lurch at a key moment.     Our CEO, Pilar Moyano, has a degree in translation and interpreting from the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid. She also has a double graduate degree in trade and international finance from the Universidad de Barcelona and is currently studying for an LLB from UNED. <\/p>\n
